Summer is in full swing, and this weekend is packed with great ways to get out and enjoy it. From the Barstool Open taking over downtown Johnstown and Thunder on the Pike roaring through the weekend to live music, community festivals, family activities, and outdoor fun across the region, there's something happening no matter what you're into. Grab your calendar, make a few plans, and enjoy another great weekend in the Laurel Highlands!

This year marks 50 years since the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail was completed in 1976.

The trail was built during a 1970s push to create a long-distance backpacking route across the Laurel Highlands, eventually stretching about 70 miles from Ohiopyle to the Conemaugh Gorge near Johnstown.

Today, it remains one of the region’s signature outdoor routes and part of the larger Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail network.

Downtown Johnstown • Friday, 5:30 PM
Play nine holes across nine downtown bars while supporting Special Forces veterans and their families. The evening wraps up with a live concert, making this one of the most unique events of the summer.

Arcadia Theater, Windber • Saturday, 7:30 PM
Experience the timeless hits of Elton John and Billy Joel in this high-energy tribute show featuring two grand pianos, a live band, and plenty of sing-along favorites.

Jim & Jimmies, Johnstown • Friday–Sunday
A full weekend of motorcycles, food, drinks, vendors, and live entertainment featuring Undercover on Friday, Hy-5 on Saturday, and The Desperados on Sunday.

Richland Performing Arts Center • Friday & Saturday, 7:00 PM
Students from across the region bring everyone's favorite spooky family to life in this fun-filled musical that's perfect for all ages.

Stone Bridge Brewing Company, Johnstown • Sunday, 3:00 PM
Close out the weekend with live music from Octane, cold craft beer, great food, and one of downtown Johnstown's favorite summer block parties.

The Johnstown Mill Rats are on the road this weekend before returning home to Sargent’s Stadium at the Point for back-to-back games against the Chillicothe Paints.
