This weekend brings a packed lineup of festivals, outdoor events, live music, and one-of-a-kind activities across Johnstown and the surrounding area. From Run the Runway, Squonkapalooza, and Johnstown’s $10,000 Scavenger Hunt to car shows, cooking workshops, line dancing, and concerts throughout the region, there are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the first weekend of August. Here’s your guide to what’s happening from Thursday through Saturday.

On August 1, 1889, just two months after the Great Flood, Cambria Iron’s entire mill was back in operation.

The return of the mill was a major step in Johnstown’s recovery, bringing workers back into the heart of the city’s industrial economy while the wider cleanup and rebuilding effort continued.

The Johnstown Mill Rats close out their regular season on the road this week, with their final stretch taking them through Kokomo, Champion City, and Lafayette.
