Happy Fourth of July weekend! Whether you're celebrating America's 250th anniversary at one of the region's patriotic events, gathering with family for a cookout, or searching for something fun to do, we've rounded up the best happenings from around the Johnstown area. From parades and live music to fireworks, trivia, cruise-ins, and family activities, here's what's happening Thursday through Sunday.
This Week in Johnstown History
This week marks 100 years since the first event was held at what is now Sargent’s Stadium at the Point. On July 5, 1926, the new stadium opened with a Middle Atlantic League baseball doubleheader between Johnstown and Clarksburg.
A century later, the Point is still one of Johnstown’s signature gathering places.
