From the 95th Annual Ferndale Jubilee to river tubing, live music, family celebrations, and hands-on activities, this weekend is packed with ways to get out and enjoy the Johnstown area. Whether you’re looking for a longtime local tradition, something adventurous, or an easy family outing, there’s plenty happening Thursday through Sunday.

This week marks 49 years since the 1977 Johnstown Flood. On the night of July 19 into July 20, severe thunderstorms trained over the region, with the heaviest rain falling across southern Cambria County.

Rainfall totals ranged from 2 to 12 inches across the area, overwhelming streams and causing widespread flash flooding throughout the region.
