Johnstown Insider – Weekend Events August 27-30, 2026

Late summer is going out with a busy weekend across Johnstown and the surrounding area, with farmers markets, live music, outdoor events, fundraisers, and a few especially unique ways to spend the day. From Pups in the Park and Rally on RedMill to NickieFest, concerts around the region, and even dinner with a ghost inside the Old Stone Jail, there’s plenty to choose from. Here’s your guide to what’s happening from Thursday through Saturday.

On August 31, 1964, the Johnstown Flood National Memorial was authorized as a National Park Service site.

The memorial preserves more than a story. Visitors can still see the remains of the South Fork Dam, the empty lakebed where Lake Conemaugh once stood, and surviving pieces of the South Fork Fishing and Hunting Club landscape near St. Michael.

A full-day event packed with antique and classic cars, modern muscle, a swap meet, food and craft vendors, kids’ activities, live music, and fireworks to close out the night.

Carrolltown Park

A dog-friendly day featuring dock diving, weight pulling, vendors, adoptable dogs and cats, a basket auction, photo booth, and plenty more for pups and their people.

Stackhouse Park, Johnstown

Spend Sunday strolling the shaded trails of Stackhouse Park while browsing work from local artists, artisans, crafters, and other vendors. Free to attend.

10:00 AM – NickieFest 2026 Classic Charity Golf Outing (Oakbrook Golf Club) – Charity golf outing supporting local organizations fighting food insecurity, featuring 18 holes, contests, raffles, lunch, prizes, and more. Registration begins at 8:30 AM.

5:30 PM – Felting for Felines: Beginner Needle Felting Cat Toys (Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center) – Learn the basics of needle felting while creating playful, functional cat toys in this beginner-friendly class. Ages 18+. $100 or $95 for Bottle Works members.

6:00 PM – Friday Night – Foggy Goggle Concert Series (Seven Springs Mountain Resort) – Enjoy live music at the Foggy Goggle featuring regional acoustic acts and bands, plus food, drinks, arcade games, and more.

9:00 AM – Adult Combo Class 101 | Log Art Dance 3-Week Class (Community Arts Center of Cambria County, Johnstown) – Adult ballet, tap, and jazz combo class for beginners and returning dancers. Ages 14+. $80 members / $85 non-members.

9:15 AM – ACE Goes IdleWILD 2026 (Idlewild & SoakZone, Ligonier) – ACE Western Pennsylvania hosts a full day at Idlewild & SoakZone with classic rides, water attractions, group activities, and a picnic lunch.

10:00 AM – Cambria K9’s 1st Annual Pups in the Park (Carrolltown Park) – Dog-friendly community event featuring dock diving, weight pulling, vendors, adoptable animals, a basket auction, photo booth, and more.

10:30 AM – Adult Contemporary Dance | Log Art Dance 3-Week Class (Community Arts Center of Cambria County, Johnstown) – Contemporary dance class blending modern, jazz, ballet, and improvisation with a focus on movement and creative expression. Ages 14+. $70 members / $75 non-members.

11:00 AM – 2026 Geiser Golf Outing (Ebensburg Country Club) – Annual charity golf outing benefiting the Saber Strong Foundation and Operation: BeYOUtiful.

1:00 PM – Summer Music Series – Janice Ray Band (Glades Pike Winery, Somerset) – Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy live music from the Janice Ray Band on the lawn. Family-friendly, with leashed pets permitted in the deck area.

6:30 PM – Murder Mystery Dinner (Johnstown Masonic Event & Conference Center) – Interactive murder mystery dinner featuring The Tragic Demise of Alfred the Squatt while supporting Alleghenies United Cerebral Palsy. Tickets: $60.

7:00 AM – Neighborhood Flea Market (3rd Avenue, Duncansville) – Browse antiques, collectibles, handmade items, vintage finds, and more from local businesses along 3rd Avenue. Coffee, drinks, and treats available nearby.

10:00 AM – Art Walk in the Park (Stackhouse Park, Johnstown) – Explore artists, artisans, crafters, and other vendors spread throughout the shaded trails of Stackhouse Park. Free.

1:00 PM – Wheels & Whiskey Cruise In (Ponfeigh Distillery, Somerset) – An afternoon of classic cars, premium spirits, a food truck, and live music from Sam Mallory.

5:00 PM – Valley Dairy Weekly Sunday Cruise-in (Valley Dairy Restaurant – Scalp Ave, Johnstown) – Weekly cruise-in featuring classic cars and oldies favorites from DJ “KC.” Weather permitting; donations benefit local charities.

5:00 PM – Roxbury Bandshell Concert Series (Roxbury Bandshell, Johnstown) – Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a free evening of live music at one of Johnstown’s historic outdoor venues. Free.
