Another summer weekend is here, and there’s plenty happening around the Johnstown area. Catch live music all weekend long, spend Saturday at the Homegrown Music & Community Festival, take the kids to a magic show or cookie decorating class, or head to Jennerstown Sunday for Rock the Raceway. From farmers markets and community events to concerts, cruise-ins, and more, here’s what’s happening around town this weekend.

On August 20, 1885, Daniel J. Morrell died at his home in Johnstown.

Morrell was one of the key figures behind Cambria Iron, helping turn Johnstown into one of the most important iron and steel centers in the country. He also took an early interest in the condition of the South Fork Dam, warning years before the 1889 Flood that an unsafe dam above the valley could threaten lives and property downstream.

Asiago’s Tuscan Italian

The Evergreens perform live Friday night as part of Asiago’s August music lineup. Pair the music with dinner, handcrafted cocktails, and a relaxed night out. Reservations are recommended.

Peoples Natural Gas Park

Spend Saturday afternoon and evening enjoying local live music, vendors, and community fundraising benefiting several local charities. The lineup includes Even the Odds, Herb & Hanson, Kevin Dale, and Chris Higbee. $15; kids 12 & under are free.

Jennerstown Speedway Complex

A full Sunday of live music headlined by The Amish Outlaws and Jim Donovan & The Sun King Warriors, plus the finale of the Rock the Raceway band competition. Food trucks, local vendors, a petting zoo, games, and kids activities round out the day. Kids 12 & under are free.

6:00 PM – Mediterranean Meets Hops at Asiago’s Tuscan Italian (Asiago’s Tuscan Italian) – Enjoy a four-course Mediterranean-inspired dinner paired with thoughtfully selected craft beers. Each course features seasonal flavors and complementary brews for a unique dining experience. $65 per person; reservations required.

9:00 AM – Johnstown Farmers Market (Central Park) – Shop fresh, locally grown food and goods from local farmers and small businesses at this weekly downtown market, with live music and entertainment adding to the experience. Free admission. Runs until 2:00 PM.

3:30 PM – Burger Bash (Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department) – Stop by for an afternoon Burger Bash featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, pasta salad, halushki, baked beans, and drinks. Runs until 6:30 PM.

5:30 PM – Felting for Felines: Beginner Needle Felting Cat Toys (Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center) – Learn the basics of needle felting while creating handmade wool toys for cats in this beginner-friendly class. No prior experience necessary. Ages 18+. $100 or $95 for Bottle Works members.

6:00 PM – Ebensburg Concerts in the Park (Penn Eben Park) – Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxing evening of live music in the park with family, friends, and neighbors. Free admission. Runs until 9:00 PM.

7:00 PM – Tony and Stacy Acoustic at Coal Country Brewing (Coal Country Brewing) – Enjoy live acoustic music from Tony and Stacy at Coal Country Brewing in Revloc. Weather permitting, the show will be outside on the patio.

7:00 PM – The Evergreens at Asiago’s Tuscan Italian (Asiago’s Tuscan Italian) – The Evergreens perform live as part of Asiago’s August music lineup. Pair the music with dinner, handcrafted cocktails, and drinks. Reservations are recommended.

9:00 AM – Ebensburg Farmer’s Market (Penn Eben Park) – Shop from local growers offering fresh produce along with homemade goods. Free admission. Runs until noon.

9:00 AM – Photography & Exploration at Cresson Sanatorium and Prison (Cresson Sanatorium and Prison) – Take a self-guided tour through the property’s upper 34 acres with plenty of opportunities for photography and exploration. Closed-toe shoes required. Ages 14+; minors must be accompanied by an adult.

9:00 AM – Trail Maintenance/Cleanup Day (Lorain/Stonycreek Hiking Trails) – Volunteers are needed to help with trail maintenance and cleanup. A great opportunity to pitch in, spend some time outdoors, or earn service hours. Runs until 2:00 PM.

10:00 AM – Princess of the Sea Tea Party (Kids Art Workshop) (Community Arts Center of Cambria County) – Kids ages 5+ can enjoy a Moana-inspired tea party with lunch, songs, interactive storytelling, and themed art projects. $35 members / $40 non-members.

10:30 AM – Adult Contemporary Dance | Log Art Dance 3-Week Class (Community Arts Center of Cambria County) – Teens 14+ and adults can explore modern, jazz, ballet, and improvisation in a contemporary dance class focused on movement, creativity, strength, and confidence. $70 members / $75 non-members for the 3-week class.

12:00 PM – Windber VFW Post 4795 Annual Picnic (Windber Recreation Park) – Head to the Ray DiBattista Pavilion for Windber VFW Post 4795’s annual community picnic. Runs until 6:00 PM.

12:00 PM – Johnstown Pride 2026 (1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial) – Johnstown’s 27th annual Pride celebration features live performances, local vendors, food trucks, drag shows, family-friendly activities, and community organizations. Free admission and open to all ages.

2:30 PM – Youth Cookie Decorating Class – Age 5+ (Lambcakes) – Kids can decorate an animal-themed set of sugar cookies with step-by-step guidance. $15 per person with all supplies included. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

6:00 PM – Jeff Webb at Tap814 Speakeasy (Tap814 Speakeasy) – Jeff Webb performs live as part of Tap814’s Saturday night music series, with scratch-made food and craft cocktails available. No cover.

6:00 PM – Music on the Lawn: Natatuma (Philip Dressler Center for the Arts) – Natatuma brings a genre-blending mix of blues, rock, jazz, funk, and jam music to Laurel Arts’ free outdoor concert series. A Makers Market runs from 5:00–8:00 PM. Free and all ages welcome.

6:00 PM – LIVE on the Patio: John Stiffler! (The Backroom Saloon) – John Stiffler performs live acoustic music on the patio for a Saturday evening of food, drinks, and live music. Runs until 8:30 PM.

7:00 PM – Live Magic Show (Something Amazing Magic and Juggling Shop) – Chuck the Magician presents "The Most Magician Ever," a game-themed magic show featuring mysteries inspired by Clue, the lottery, Rubik’s Cube, and more. Tickets are $10; limited seating.

7:30 PM – Queen Flash – Queen Tribute (Arcadia Theater) – Johnny Zatylny and Queen Flash recreate the sound, look, and theatrical energy of Freddie Mercury and Queen in a full tribute concert featuring the band’s classic music. Tickets $48–$56.

9:00 PM – Double Chuckle Comedy Tour (East End Grille) – Comedian Patrick Madison brings his national touring comedy show to Johnstown for a night of stand-up after appearances at the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas and venues across the country.

1:00 PM – Rock the Raceway (Jennerstown Speedway Complex) – A full afternoon and night of live music headlined by The Amish Outlaws and Jim Donovan & The Sun King Warriors, plus the finale of the Rock the Raceway band competition. Enjoy food trucks, local vendors, a petting zoo, games, and activities for kids. Kids 12 & under are free.

3:00 PM – The Supperclub Sleuths: Book Club (Tap814 Speakeasy) – A monthly murder-mystery book club featuring a guided discussion of a selected thriller or whodunit, with theories, twists, and plenty of conversation. $20 per guest; limited seating.

3:00 PM – Summer Block Party Series (Stone Bridge Brewing Company) – Spend Sunday afternoon enjoying live entertainment at the brewery's Summer Block Party. $5 admission includes your first brew or seltzer. Runs until 6:00 PM.

5:00 PM – Roxbury Bandshell Concert Series (Roxbury Bandshell) – Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of live music at one of Johnstown's classic outdoor venues. Free admission. Runs until 7:00 PM.

5:00 PM – Valley Dairy 70s Night! Sunday Cruise-In (Valley Dairy Restaurant – Scalp Avenue) – The weekly cruise-in gets a '70s twist with classic cars, DJ KC spinning '70s music, and guests encouraged to dress for the decade. '70s-era vehicles are invited to park in the front rows. Weather permitting.

5:00 PM – Shallow 9 at the St. Clair Tremont Club (St. Clair Tremont Club) – Shallow 9 brings live music to the St. Clair Tremont Club for a Sunday evening performance.
