Here’s your guide to what’s happening this weekend.

This Week in Johnstown History: A Tragic Day on the Southern Cambria Railway

On August 12, 1916, two trolleys on the Southern Cambria Railway collided head-on in one of the deadliest transit accidents in the region’s history.

The railway connected Johnstown with communities including Nanty Glo, South Fork, and Ebensburg. The crash claimed 27 lives and injured 80 people, becoming the most tragic chapter in the short history of the line.
