This weekend is full of late-summer events across Johnstown and the surrounding area, with community festivals, live music, outdoor activities, and a few unique experiences mixed in. From Richland Community Days and Rock Run’s Summer Blast to farm events, comedy, pro wrestling, and free concerts, there are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the weekend. Here’s your guide to what’s happening this weekend.

On August 12, 1916, two trolleys on the Southern Cambria Railway collided head-on in one of the deadliest transit accidents in the region’s history.

The railway connected Johnstown with communities including Nanty Glo, South Fork, and Ebensburg. The crash claimed 27 lives and injured 80 people, becoming the most tragic chapter in the short history of the line.

Friday & Saturday | Theatre Drive & Schoolhouse Road, Richland

One of the area’s biggest community celebrations of the weekend returns with live music, food and craft vendors, kids’ activities, games, and community booths. Friday features a parade along Theatre Drive, while Saturday brings a full day of festivities capped off by a 9:30 PM fireworks show. Admission and parking are free.

Saturday at 9:00 AM | Coal Tubin’, Johnstown

The third annual Rigs On The River brings Jeeps, Tacomas, overlanding rigs, and more together for a day of wheeling and tubing. The group will head out for a scenic or small trail ride depending on turnout, with campsites available for anyone looking to make a weekend of it.

Saturday at 7:00 PM | Peoples Natural Gas Park, Johnstown

The final show of the free summer concert series brings another night of live music to downtown Johnstown. The Regal Sweet takes the stage at 7:00 PM, followed by Natalie Brooke at 8:00 PM. Doors open at 6:00 PM, and admission is free.

6:00 PM - Labor & Delivery Hospital Tour (Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center) - Expecting parents can tour the renovated Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby units, see patient rooms, learn what to bring and where to park, and have questions answered by the maternity care team. No registration required.

9:00 AM - 13th Annual Summer Blast (Rock Run Recreation Area) - Rock Run’s Summer Blast continues with events, vendors, activities, and family-friendly fun throughout the weekend.

1:00 PM - Operation BONECRUSHER 2026 (Cresson Sanatorium and Prison) - Third Coast Airsoft brings its BONECRUSHER event to the former prison complex for a full weekend of immersive airsoft combat and missions.

1:00 PM - BASS INVADERS (915 Rogers St., Nanty Glo) - A family-friendly vendor event featuring handmade crafts, boutique items, jewelry, skincare, custom gifts, sweet treats, specialty foods, and more from local small businesses.

4:00 PM - Richland Community Days (Theatre Drive & Schoolhouse Road, Richland) - Richland Community Days kicks off with food and craft vendors, kids’ activities, live music, community and commercial booths, and a 7 PM parade along Theatre Drive. Free admission and parking.

5:00 PM - Pasture Party (Vale Wood Farms, Loretto) - Enjoy a summer evening on the farm with live music from Bruce Schettig, food trucks, ice cream, wine, beer, and plenty of cows.

5:30 PM - Felting for Felines: Beginner Needle Felting Cat Toys (Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center) - Learn the basics of needle felting while creating playful wool cat toys in this beginner-friendly class. Ages 18+; $100 or $95 for Bottle Works members.

6:00 PM - Unplugged in Ebensburg Central Park! (Ebensburg Central Park) - Unplugged Acoustic brings live acoustic rock from the ’80s through today to Central Park for a Friday evening performance.

6:00 PM - Steel City Comedy Tour @ Ponfeigh Distillery (Ponfeigh Distillery, Somerset) - Enjoy a night of stand-up featuring national touring headliner Buddy Flip along with Trey McDonough, Andrea O’Rouke, and MC Amanda Averell. Food available from The Smoked Barrel. 21+ only.

6:00 PM - LIVE on the Patio: Kenny Jubas (The Backroom Saloon, Ebensburg) - Kenny Jubas performs live on the patio for a Friday evening of music, drinks, and a laid-back summer atmosphere.

6:30 PM - Underground Mission Rap Concert (Free) (The Way Ministry Center, Johnstown) - Christian Arts United hosts a free concert featuring local musicians at The Way Ministry Center.

7:00 PM - Justin Sellers at Asiago's Tuscan Italian (Asiago's Tuscan Italian) - Justin Sellers performs live in the bar as part of Asiago’s Friday night music series, with dinner and drinks available throughout the evening.

7:00 PM - Shallow 9 at Rock Run Recreation Area (Rock Run Recreation Area) - Shallow 9 returns to Rock Run for a live Friday night performance during Summer Blast weekend.

12:00 PM - 2026 Band of Heroes Outdoors Sportsmens Event (Jordan Hall at the Bedford Speedway) - A fundraiser supporting Band of Heroes Outdoors with food and drinks included, door prizes, and more than 30 raffle drawings. $20 donation; must be 18+ to purchase a ticket.

6:00 PM - Waylon Barosky at Tap814 Speakeasy (Tap814 Speakeasy) - Waylon Barosky performs live as part of Tap814’s Saturday music series, with scratch-made food, craft cocktails, and a laid-back speakeasy atmosphere. No cover.

7:00 PM - Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Free Summer Concert: Natalie Brooke w/ The Regal Sweet (Peoples Natural Gas Park) - The final show in the free summer concert series features The Regal Sweet followed by Natalie Brooke. Admission is free.

7:05 PM - The Legacy Begins: POD Pro Wrestling Presents ALPHA (Windber Community Building & Recreation Park) - POD Pro Wrestling launches its ALPHA event with an evening of live pro wrestling action. Tickets range from $20 select seating to $30 elite ringside.

9:00 AM - Greater Johnstown Coin Club Annual Coin Show (Richland Fire Hall) - Coin dealers will be buying and selling coins and currency throughout the day, with free admission and parking, hourly door prizes, and a raffle featuring a 1/10 oz. gold coin.

9:00 AM - 13th Annual Summer Blast (Rock Run Recreation Area) - Rock Run’s 13th annual Summer Blast wraps up with the final day of events, vendors, activities, and family-friendly fun.

4:00 PM - FTT Unplugged at The Solomon Run Firemen’s Club Motorcycle Run (The Solomon Run Firemen’s Club) - FTT Unplugged returns to Solomon Run for the club’s motorcycle run, bringing live music to the Sunday afternoon gathering.

5:00 PM - Free Summer Sunday Concerts (Roxbury Bandshell) - Enjoy a free evening of live music featuring The Moore Brothers at 5 PM followed by Stonebridge Blues Band at 6 PM.

5:00 PM - Family Fun Night (First Baptist Church of Ebensburg) - First Baptist Church of Ebensburg hosts a Sunday evening Family Fun Night for the community.

5:00 PM - Valley Dairy '70s Night! Sunday Cruise-in (Valley Dairy Restaurant, Scalp Ave.) - The weekly cruise-in gets a ’70s twist with DJ “KC” spinning favorites from the decade, attendees encouraged to dress ’70s-style, and ’70s-era cars and trucks getting the front-row spots.

5:00 PM - Double Chuckle Comedy Tour (That Dam Bar, Hollsopple) - Comedian Patrick Madison brings the Double Chuckle Comedy Tour to That Dam Bar for a Sunday evening of stand-up comedy.
